New York Convention:

Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards

Italy by Law of 19 January 1968, after №. 62, published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Italy for the number 46 on 02.21.1968, ratified the New York Convention of 10.06.1958 on the recognition and enforcement of judgments handed down by foreign courts of arbitration, from 1 ° May 1969. Article 1, Section 2 of the said Convention reads as follows: "Under the arbitration award refers not only to the decisions made by judges appointed and assigned to specific cases, but also the decisions that were made by permanent arbitral bodies to which applied and obeyed by the parties" . For this reason, the term "judgment" as used in international arbitrations administered by the European Legal Arbitration Court finds its legitimacy in the Italian Law on the ratification and enforcement of the rules of the New York Convention of 06.10.1958 (Law 19-01 -1968 for №. 62). Hence subsequently lead to the possibility of enforcing a sentence in the territory of more than 100 States Parties of the New York Convention of 10.06.1958.
